Ferret Gender Indentification
Determining the gender of your ferret can be accomplished in much the same way as you would determine the gender of a dog or a cat. All male ferrets have a penis, unaltered males will also have testicles. Female ferrets have a vulva.
Male:
An intact male ferret is called a Hob
A neutered male may be referred to as a Gib
The penis is located about halfway between the anus and the bottom of the rib cage and appears as small lump or bump, which is often mistaken for a belly button. In unaltered males the testicles are located just below the penis.

Female:
An intact female ferret is called a Jill
A spayed female may be referred to as a Sprite
The vulva is located just above the anus and appears as a small opening covered by a little flap of skin.
Altered Female: Normal Vulva
